Nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees at the end of a local road which peters out into a forest track, it may feel remote, but the barn is only an hour's drive from Toulouse, and half an hour from the local towns of St Gaudens and St Girons with their large weekly markets. It is in a small hamlet with neighbours nearby and the local village down the road (2 minutes by car) has a shop and petrol pump. 10 minutes away is the pretty town of Aspet, where there are a range of shops, cafes and restaurants, and an outdoor swimming pool. The town of Arbas is 5 minutes away (it recently hit the news when a number of specially-imported brown Slovenian bears were released into the surrounding forest, leading to angry protests from local farmers) The nearest supermarket is 20 minutes away. The Spanish border town of Vielha is also within easy access, and day or weekend trips to Spain are possible with Barcelona and St Sebastian within a few hours drive.
